Cuttlebones and the Sepia Collection

Using the bone  from the cuttlefish (Sepia Officinalis) to produce small metal objects is an ancient technique dating back thousands of years.

The natural growth rings  of the bone are leaving their individual lines on the metal object and are usually removed by the crafts-person.

In my case I use these beautiful ridges, if you like, the finger-print of the cuttlefish, as the main feature in my Sepia collection.
